Recieved much needed rainfall on Monday of this week in NE Arkansas. Should allow for clean up applications of herbicide on the early planted rice and allow it to go to flood.
The lack of rainfall in April has been a significant issue in emergence and weed control. Flushing has added a significant cost of production to the crop so far and the increased price of urea will certainly add even more.

Dry weather in northeast Arkansas is taking a toll on all crops. Soybean planting has stopped in most places due to the lack of moisture and rice is being flushed everywhere. Where the field wasn't up to a full stand and hasn't been flushed yet the rice looks bad. Where timely flushing has taken place the rice looks good. I am going to have to spray and flush fields next week

John I'm not happy either. But the reality is that it's here and the industry will have to adjust. What r your thoughts. We are the few so tight lips are not the measure of the day.

To our U.S. producers...Now that we are at the tail end of rice planting I have a question...have you planted more rice than you expected to or less?
